The 2016 Winter Extra Auction a Success for Buyers and Breeders

Once again the Westphalian Breeders proved that they can offer a wide range of sport horse talent and bloodlines for all tastes and budgets! The 2016 Winter auction collection included 26 ridden horses 4 years and older as well as   17  stallions and mares of 3 years old.

At this our 22nd year  of the Winter Extra there was strong national and international bidder interest which resulted in overall sales of 691,500 euros.  This Auction was a great  start to our sales  year  of 2016th noted local Westphalian breeder and exhibitor Birgit Budde Brock of Dorsten.

The top selling youngster this year was the 3 year old dark bay dressage gelding,  cat. #4 Loui v LEspoir/Rotspon selling for 55,000 to a stable in Hesse. The top selling jumper was Catalogue #19, Coronatus, v Coronus/Colbert GTI with a hammer price of 21,000. This talented 6 year old has already won at a number of competitions.

Fürstenball - Diamond Hit was the popular lineage that sold the most expensive three-year Youngsters of the auction, Catalogue #25 Fabrice which sent bidding to 26,000 to customers in Bavaria.   All of the 3 year olds were presented in hand, on the lunge and free jumping.

The average price at the auction was 15,367 per horse. The lowest price horse leaving the ring at 6500. The Westphalian Studbook team were very pleased that at this 22nd Winter Auction of 2016 there were very few unsold horses.
