Ponies full of Grace and Power at the Pony auction

Westphalian Pony Auction December 1st

Our third visit to the home of the Westphalian Studbook in Munster-Handorf, Germany was another huge success. As an “Ambassador“ for the Westphalian Breeders Association,  I escorted Event Rider,  Mark Swann to this auction. Mark was interested to discover what the Westphalian Breeders might have to offer his clients and he was not disappointed.  The December pony auction, the 2nd year running, is the Studbook’s  answer to increasing buyer demand for ponies and this years pony selection did not disappoint.  “The Westphalian ponies on display were exceptional: we all wished we were children again and could take one home ourselves! The Studbook Sales team here were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable - I will definitely be returning !” commented Mark Swann.

Whether you are looking for a safe family pony or an FEI  super star, Westphalian ponies are beautifully bred and perfectly trained in the traditional German classical way. They are safe, well mannered and willing ponies.  Almost all have competed nationally in Germany, some at FEI level. Put simply, they are the best kept secret in Europe.

Held in the welcoming surroundings of the purpose built equestrian centre in Munster-Handorf, the Westphalian Pony auction plays out to a packed auction house of spectators and buyers . Prospective buyers were safe in the knowledge that they were buying pre-vetted healthy ponies with Germany’s top equine vets on hand to show and discuss the x-rays and clinical vetting of each pony.

The UK clients who bid from their homes by telephone were so impressed with the quality of the ponies that they are booking flights to visit the studbook and local successful pony breeders to find their dream pony in the New Year.Though their bid for a stunning dressage pony was outbid by a few other enthusiastic buyers they found the auction experience exhilarating and support of the Studbook Sales Team very helpful.

The starting prices at the pony auction is €5,000 with the average price  around  €12,000 with the a few top ponies going for u to €35,000. My clients and I agreed that the auction ponies offered fantastic value for quality.

To have such a large selection  of pre-vetted, well trained, competition ponies to choose from, is a rare buying opportunity.  So we are letting you into Europe’s best kept secret:  Westphalian Ponies and the annual Westphalian Pony Auction are an opportunity not to be missed!

The Westphalian Studbook & Breeders Association e.V. is open year round for those interested in viewing these ponies full of grace and power. Friendly, fun and full of the most incredible equines, the next sport horse auction is mid-January and will offer quality dressage and show jumping young horses.
