Münster: 33 riding horses were up for sale at today's summer auction of the Westphalian Studbook. 28 of them found a new owner at an average price of 17,893 Euros. Head number 1 Escaluna was the top-priced horse with a hammer price of 53,000 euro.
Dressage riders had the chance to purchase a young horse 20 times this afternoon at the auction of the Westphalian Studbook. Head number 1 became the top price of the day. The daughter of Escamillo/Don Larino (breeder: Heiner Böckmann, Bremervörde; exhibitor: Sarah Bentrup, Fürstenau) descents from the line of the world-famous Weihegold OLD, who gained merits at international championships with Isabell Werth in the saddle. Escaluna herself was also already successful at competitions and has won dressage tests for young dressage horses up to elementary level. 15 bidders competed in the BidUp for the talented mare, who particularly impressed with her riding qualities. The decision was made with the 69th bid. She will continue her career in Germany for a hammer price of 53,000 euros. Fräulein Meier was the second most expensive dressage horse of the day with a knockdown price of 25,000 euros. The likeable daughter of Fashion in Black NRW/Rock Forever NRW (breeder: Paul Meiermann, Münster; exhibitor: Berthold Lindhaus and Thomas Holling, Schöppingen) has already been placed in tests for young riding horses. The chestnut mare impressed customers from near and far throughout the auction time with her great quality of movement and outstanding rideability. In the end, customers from Germany had a lucky hand and secured the five-year-old. The 16 dressage horses sold realised an average price of 17,469 euros.
The 13 show jumpers in the lot were also very popular among the international customers. Twelve of the show jumpers on offer found a new owner at an average price of 18,431 euros. Head number 33 Naddel S was the most expensive horse in the jumping lot. The daughter of Baggio/Clarimo (breeder: Jessica Schlieckmann, Güthersloh; exhibitor: Victor Birkenheier, Werne) has already been placed in tests for young show jumpers up to elementary level and is a descendant of the successful Holstein line 42B. She changed hands to customers from Latvia at the hammer price of 28,500 Euros. The son of Charthago Blue/Con Air with the head number 34 (breeder: Dirk Lohmann, Schermbeck; exhibitor: Sportpferde Haus Broich, Willich) realised a hammer price of 25,000 Euros. Charthago Air has already achieved placings in tests for young show jumpers. In the end, customers from Germany had the longest breath and secured the winning bid for the grey gelding from the Holstein line 2544.
Of the 33 riding horses offered for sale that afternoon, 85 per cent were sold to new owners. With an average price of 17,893 Euros, the Westphalian Studbook realised a total turnover of 501,000 Euros. A total of seven of the horses sold will continue their careers outside of Germany.
