With the aim of breeding reliable, high-quality and high-performance horse breeds, the founders of Westphalian breeding and the Westphalian Stud Book already attached great importance to mare lines. Without powerful and successful mare lines, many of Westphalia's triumphs in equestrian sport and breeding would not have been possible.
The willingness to perform at the highest level, the ability and the robustness, which are deeply rooted in these mare families, are still the essence today.
