Main licensing for small horse stallions

Münster: The second weekend of Advent in Münster-Handorf is all about riding pony and small horse stallions. The first licensing decisions were already made on Saturday afternoon for the stallions of the small horse breeds. A total of 21 representatives of seven different breeds presented themselves. Two thirds of them received a positive approval.

The Westphalian main licensing for small horse stallions started early Saturday morning with the presentation on the pavement. One Dülmener, five representatives of the Welsh section (Welsh A and B), seven Shetland ponies under 87 cm, four Shetland ponies over 87 cm, four German Partbred Shetland ponies and one American Miniature Horse made up the diverse line-up of licensing candidates. Due to the weather, the presentation of the ponies on the triangular track had to be moved indoors. After the third and thus final assessment of the free-running, the licensing decisions were made on Saturday afternoon. The winning stallion in the Welsh pony section was catalog number 55, a noble gray stallion by Oosterslags Satchmo/Spoorzicht's Hilfiger (breeder: H.F.K. Kuper, Nieuw-Amsterdam). He was exhibited by his owner Ulrike Bolle from Buchholz. In the same ring, head number 56 was also awarded the title of premium stallion. The Potteries Simon/De Evertshoeve's Elgenace son was exhibited by Jörg Mey from Haselünne. Furthermore, catalog numbers 54 and 58 received a positive approval.
This year's winning stallion in the Shetland Pony breed (under 87) was bred and owned by Petra Stöbel-Masuch from Schieder-Schwalenberg. The son of Niederbrok Hui-Buh/Gordon B impressed the six-member licensing committee above all with his good type expression and very good trot work. The coveted title in the Shetland ponies over 87 cm was secured by catalog number 68 from the breeder's house of Franca Lange, Salzkotten. The head numbers 70, 71, 73 and 75 were also convincing, so that breeding director Katrin Tosberg was also able to congratulate them on their positive licensing decision.
The stallion Kalle vom Eichenhof (Karel v.d. Achterhoek/Nelson v.hoeve eelwerd) from the Pahde stud farm, who was licensed last year, was also presented and received recognition for the Westphalian breeding program.
