Münster: On the occasion of the Al Shira'aa Bundeschampionate in Warendorf, the Westphalian Studbook held its first foal auction at the NRW State Stud. Twenty-five dressage-oriented riding horse foals and two pony foals were up for sale. A heavy horse foal was auctioned off at the start of the auction in aid of the Herzenswünsche e.V. association from Münster. Bella Benedikta II achieved the highest price, selling for 40,500 euros. The 21 foals sold cost an average of 16,000 euros.

The Westphalian foal auction of dressage oriented foald, held for the first time at the NRW State Stud, was very well received. The international audience, which had travelled from near and far in large numbers, enjoyed the outstanding quality of the promising Westphalian offspring.

The auction, held under the motto ‘Modernity meets Tradition’, was opened by the heavy horse stallion Horizont. Auctioneer Thomas Münch himself led the sire of lot number 1. Habedank by Horizont/Franco (breeder: Albert Aryceus, Erndtebrück) was exhibited by the Westphalian Studbook and auctioned off in aid of the Herzenswünsche e.V. association from Münster. The joint ownership of the Schlamminger and Beckmann stud farms purchased the young stallion for 6,000 euros. Thanks to further generous donations, a total of 12,000 euros was raised.

It was the evening of the Illting-Reuke stud farm. With two foals bred by Bernhard Illting-Reuke, they achieved a double price peak. Both foals descant from the famous line of the former Bundeschampion Fynch Hatton. The most popular was head number 4. Bella Benedikta II by Bonds sparked a bidding duell between customers on site and online. Her dam Sézane by Secret is none other than the 2022 Vice Bundeschampioness. For 40,500 euros, customers from Poland secured the bid online for the beautiful filly, who is set to follow in her dam's footsteps. Head number 22 was the second offspring from Bernhard Illting-Reuke. The son of Viva Gold impressed with his excellent movement! His dam Escamilla by Escamillo is a half-sister to Sézane. In addition to Fynch Hatton, many other licensed stallions originate from this direct dam line. He was also for 39,500 euros also to customers who placed their bids online.

Another foal broke the 30,000 euro mark. With head number 24, a filly out of the first vintage of Dynamic Pur shone in the auction round at the North Rhine-Westphalian State Stud. Do it Right was bred and exhibited by ZG Grunert, Everswinkeln, out of Fräulein Feline by Feinrich. The brown filly had already impressed the expert audience during yesterday's presentation. At 37,000 euros, Thomas Münch brought down his hammer in favour of customers on site. The two riding pony foals on offer also shone on the auction floor. The son of Weidner's Dream Date/A new Star I NRW (breeder and exhibitor: Marlies Lüning, Rietberg) changed hands for 11,000 euros.

A good three-quarters of the foals offered found new owners this evening. With an average price of around 16,000 euros, the Westphalian Studbook achieved a total turnover of 338,000 euros.

The Westphalian Studbook would like to express its sincere thanks to the North Rhine-Westphalian State Stud and its stud manager Dr. Felix Austermann, who made this event possible at relatively short notice.
