Münster: Around 30 foals were up for sale this evening at the Westphalian Studbook. Almost 90 per cent of these found a new owner at an average price of 9,890 Euros. The most expensive offer was a son of Dynamic Dream with a hammer price of 35,500 euros. The shetlandpony foal, which sold for 3,500 euros, also found many fans.
The Westphalian Studbook celebrated its youngest talents one last time for the year 2024. Of the 28 riding horse foals offered for sale, 25 found a new owner.
With the head number 208, Don Domingo (breeder and exhibitor: Philipp Welsing, Borken) caused a particular stir. The strong-moving colt is a half-brother to Viviano Gold, who changed hands for 33,333 euros at this very OnLive foal auction exactly one year ago. For this year, the Welsing breeding family had paired their St.Pr.St. Fürstin Cissy by Fürst Magic with Dynamic Dream. Don Domingo was particularly sought-after by two customers from the Netherlands, who placed their bids online, and even exceeded the hammer price of his half-brother. He changed ownership to a stallion owner in the Netherlands for 35,500 euros.
The most expensive filly of the evening also came from the dressage squad of this auction lot. The daughter of Red Viper, who recently became World Champion of Young Dressage Horses in Ermelo, descents from a very special dam line. The dam, the Elite mare Hot Shot by Hotline, has already brought numerous high-priced auction horses and foals to the Westphalian auction place. She is none other than the dam of the World Champion and Aachen winner Vamos Amigos. With the characteristic name Red Amigas (breeder and exhibitor: Noortje Radstake, Netherlands), she changed hands for 16,000 euros.
A real eye-catcher was the top-priced jumping foal. The skewbald colt Diador by Diamant de Klapscheut Z/Caspar (breeder and exhibitor: Matthias Ketelsen, Silberstadt) was highly sought after both online and on site. The stallion from the Holstein line 8790 was knocked down at a hammer price of 17,000 Euros. The most popular filly with a jumping pedigree was Champagne with the head number 224 (breeder and exhibitor: Heinz-Bernd Große-Wienker, Wadersloh). The daughter of the popular sire Cornet Obolensky has a very special mare as her dam. The performance mare Lissbonia by Lissabon was victorious 27 times in advanced level show jumping competitions. The filly changed hands for the hammer price of 13,250 euros. Alice in Wonderland RR was worth 13,000 euro to her new owners. The daughter of Aganix du Seigneur Z/Quabri de L'Isle (breeder and exhibitor: Rhomberg-Rochelt Horses GmbH, Austria) descents from the valuable performance line of CSIO5* winner Con Air, who celebrated numerous successes under the saddle of national trainer Otto Becker.
A very special foal entered the ring with the head number 211. The shetty foal Piccolino vom Burgblick by Hahns Piccolo Grande/Elias by Schellemkrans (breeder and exhibitor: Petra Stöbel-Masuch, Schieder-Schwalenberg) found many friends in the marquee at the Westphalian Studboook. The audience happily celebrated the smallest young star of the evening. In the end, the skewbald stallion found his new owner for 3,500 euros among the customers who bid on site.
A total of 24 riding horse foals were successfully sold this evening. With an average price of 9,890 euros, the Westphalian Studbook realised a total turnover of 247,250 euros. With this last foal auction of the year, the Westphalian Studbook was able to successfully sell a total of around 460 foals to new owners for its breeders this year for an average of around 10,000 euros.
Tomorrow, Sunday, the Handorf Auction Festival will end with the dressage horse auction. Around 50 dressage horses and youngsters will be for sale in the auction hall of the Westphalian Studbook starting at 2 pm.
