Anniversary auction in Westphalia arouses high buyer interest

Münster: 30 foals were for sale in the 80th edition of the Westphalian online auctions. The young talents, bred with a focus on dressage, were extremely popular with the international clientele this evening. At an average price of 12,420 euros, 22 of the foals on offer changed hands. Number 5 danced its way to the top price with Total Spezial from Möhrkenhof with a hammer price of 50,500 euros.

The Westphalian auction candidates from the 2024 vintage were very popular with international customers this evening. A son of the internationally highly successful Total Hope trotted for the outstanding top price of 50,500 euros. By Fabian Zemitzsch, Kropp, from the Sonata Princess v. Drawn by Prince Romancier and exhibited by him, it bore the significant name Total Spezial vom Möhrkenhof. The impressive black stallion presented interested parties from Canada, the Netherlands and Germany with an exciting bidding duel. A customer from Canada fought successfully to the end. The virtual auction hammer fell at 50,500 euros. Vicky Lavoie from Canada won the auction's top price.

Two fillies also cracked the 35,000 euro mark. Once again, the blood of Viva Gold enjoyed great popularity. Viva Emilia was the name of the daughter of Viva Gold/Emilio (breeder and exhibitor: Katharina Wefers, Billerbeck). The dark chestnut mare comes from an embryo transfer mating, so that her mother, the six-year-old St.Pr.St. Emilia v. Emilio, is currently successfully competing in class L dressage horse tests. Ten bidders from four different countries fought for a long time to win the contract for the strong-moving mares. In the end, Switzerland and Spain settled the bidding duel between themselves. Viva Emilia will begin her career in Spain for the top price of 45,000 euros. Head number 1 was also very popular with customers. Ebba is the name of the beautiful daughter of Escaneno/Asgard's Ibiza (breeder and exhibitor: Ulrike Susmann, Rheinberg). The chestnut mare from the line of the Warendorf state stud stallion Fürst Piccolo impressed with excellent movement. Customers from Germany and France fought for the contract in an exciting bid up. The French customers repeatedly tried to outpace the Germans with large bidding steps. In the end, they had the stamina, so Ebba will remain in Germany at the hammer price of 38,000 euros.

That evening was the 80th online auction of the Westphalian Horse Stud Book. The dressage-focused Westphalian riding horse and riding pony foals were extremely popular at the anniversary auction. With an average price of 12,420 euros, 22 foals changed hands today. The Westphalian Horse Stud Book thus generated a total turnover of 273,250 euros. “Together with the sensational foal auction as part of the German Championships in Balve last Saturday and the subsequent online auctions of riding horses and foals, we were able to achieve a total turnover of almost 1.2 million euros for our exhibitors over the past three days.” says auction manager Thomas Münch happily.
