A total of 34 stallions took their age-appropriate performance test last weekend in Münster-Handorf. For the four and five-year-old stallions, the two-day sport test was on the agenda for the last time - a new concept for the stallion performance test system will come into force from 2025.
Among the five-year-old stallions, two Westphalians were placed first with equal scores. On the one hand, Velvedere by Valverde / Sir Donnerhall I (breeder: Ralf Borowczak, Castrop-Rauxel; b.: Wilhelm Holkenbrink, Münster-Albachten), whose expressive trot was rated 9.0, and the Celle State Stud stallion Eastwood by Escolar / Vitalis (breeder: Leo Hermanns, Aldenhoven), who is also a strong mover. Both stallions thus completed their stallion performance test and are now definitively listed in Stallion Book I.
In the lot of four-year-olds, Sir Gribaldi by Secret / All Inclusive T. (breeder: ZG Aronis & Janßen, Hamburg), who is stationed at Gestüt Sprehe and recognized in Westphalia, clearly stood out with a weighted final score of 8.84.
The largest lot was made up of the three-year-old stallions, who were tested both under the home rider and the external rider as part of the two-day short disposition test. A total of eight stallions achieved a final score of 8.0 or better. Leading the field was the Von und Zu / Dancier son Verbier (breeder: Monika Rösemeier-Harms, Großefehn), who is also recognized in Westphalia and stationed at DLZ Lodbergen.
The three-year old stallions will also be able to take the short Vet Examination in the fall or, at the latest, at the beginning of January as four-year olds.
