In the early hours of January 6, 2025, our long-standing member of the Körkommission Theo Lohmann passed away at the age of 80. He held this office for 13 years before retiring for reasons of age.
The man from Sendenhorst had been an active member of the Westphalian Studbook since the mid-1960s and had bred 476 foals during this time. 265 of them went on to compete in show jumping and dressage competitions up to advanced (S) level. Six licensed stallions were bred by him, including the state stud stallion Ribbeck Ldb. by Ribot, as well as Faisal by Frühlingstraum, Del Mar L by Dinard L and Gonfaron by Goldlack.
In addition, Theo Lohmann was a delegate for his district in the Westphalian Studbook for 30 years and chairman of the horse breeders in the Warendorf district for 24 years. In 2022, he received the association's rarely awarded Golden Badge of Honor from the chairman of the breeding association, Ralf Johansson, for his great services to Westphalian horse breeding.
In all the years we worked together, we appreciated his cordial nature and, above all, his professional expertise and will keep him in honorable memory.
