Westphalian horses successful at the AGRAVIS Cup
Three former Westphalian auction horses place in the Grand Prix of Münster

The AGRAVIS-Cup Münster has been the traditional equestrian event in the Münsterland arena since 1926, combining top-class equestrian sport with the rural equestrian tradition of the Münsterland and breeding. This weekend, Westphalian horses were successfully represented in both dressage and show jumping competitions.
In the Grand Prix of Münster, an advanced (S) level show jumping competition with jump-off over a height of 155 cm, three Westphalian horses, which were marketed in the past via the Westphalian Auction Parquet, placed. The nine-year-old Askala NRW by A la Carte NRW/Contendro I, bred by Josef Meyer, topped the field. Under the saddle of Hendrik Dowe, the Westphalian mare remained clear in the round and jump-off and the pair secured victory with a time of 33.27 seconds. Askala NRW changed hands at the 2019 Westphalian Autumn Auction.
Also placed in the Grand Prix: Caja 38 by Cornado I/Dinard L (breeder: Heinrich Ellertmann) under the saddle of Balasz Krucso. The twelve-year-old Westphalian mare changed hands at a Westphalian foal auction in 2013. Under the saddle of Jeremy Sweetnam, a foal from the 2015 OWL Challenge auction in Paderborn also placed - Chuflay by Cornet Obolensky/Cormint (breeder: Friedrich-Wilhelm Thomas).

Shiva NRW by Sir Heinrich/Fürst Grandios (breeder: ZG Familie Schmale), the heroine of our current winter auction, once again proved her qualities in the dressage arena. Under the saddle of Nadine Plaster, the ten-year-old Westphalian mare won both the qualifier and the final of the 'Derby Stars of Tomorrow' - an advanced (S**) level dressage test - Intermediaire II - and a short Grand Prix at three-star level.
