Sensational hammer price of 105,000 euros for Va Bene son

Münster: 25 colts were up for sale this evening in the Online Auction of the Westphalian Studbook. Head number 1 Vitavito Gold caused a sensation. He changed hands for the hammer price of 105,000 euros. A total of 20 young colts were sold this evening at an average price of 14,088 euros.

This evening's online auction organised by the Westphalian Studbook showed that the interest in high-quality foals remains high. Head number 1 in this auction lot aroused extremely high desires. Vitavito Gold cracked the 10,000 euro mark just 30 minutes after bidding started on Thursday morning. The excitement continued throughout the weekend. At the final BidUp the bid for the son of Va Bene/Sir Donnerhall (breeder and exhibitor: Philipp Welsing, Borken) had already reached 70,000 euro. A total of 21 bidders competed for the young stallion with strong movements, whose dam was successful in advanced level dressage competitions. The virtual hammer fell for this young star with the 71st bid. He will grow up at the place of new customers from Hesse at the sensational hammer price of 105,000 euros.

Head number 2 Popcorn by Pjethro/San Amour (breeder and exhibitor: Gestüt Schultenhof, Norden-Norddeich) was also very popular with the international clientele. The Kjento son Pjethro is celebrating his successful sire debut here. The handsome black colt with strong movements sparked a bidding duel between customers from Spain, Germany and the Netherlands. A total of ten bidders battled it out in 36 bids. In the end, customers from Spain had the longest breath and bought the young hopeful for 26,500 euros. 

The Viva Gold/Briar son with the head number 18 (breeder and exhibitor: Helmut Gäher, Havixbeck) received 51 bids from 18 bidders. His dam, St.Pr.St. Petite Ballarde, already produced the mare Escalida, who is successful in advanced level dressage competitions in combination with Escolar. The liver chestnut colt Valentino was knocked down to Brazil this evening for 24,500 Euros.

A total of 80 per cent of the foals on offer were sold this evening at an average price of 14,088 euros. The riding horse foals sold for an average hammer price of 16,703 euros. Six of the foals sold realised a hammer price of 10,000 euros or more. With the 20 foals sold, the Westfälisches Pferdestammbuch realised a total turnover of 281,750 Euros.
