Large starting field at the 2025 Westphalian Free Jumping Final 
Three and four-year-old young show jumping talents impress in Münster-Handorf

Münster. Young show jumping talents were able to qualify for the Westphalian Free Jumping Final on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at the Westphalian Horse Center at 10 qualifying events in and around Westphalia. The expert jury, consisting of judges Peter Schmerling and Holger Ronne, awarded marks for ability and manner. The high number of entries totaling 56 riding horses, riding ponies and Haflingers was particularly pleasing.

The four-year-old riding ponies opened the final in the large event hall of the Westphalian Horse Center. The winner in this age group was the licensed stallion A little Wonder by A kind of Magic/FS Don't Worry, bred and owned by ZG Lea u. Birgit Müller from Gütersloh. With an overall score of 9.0, he left the competition in his wake. Second place went to the licensed stallion Voice of Germany from the renowned stallion station of Jill Mieleszko-Vekens. The Vincent/Notre-Beau son, bred by Viktor Röring from Ahaus, received an overall score of 8.7. The Rapp stallion had already qualified for the final as a three-year-old in 2024 and also took second place there. The Diamonds Showtime Se.M/Marco daughter Hündersens Showgirl, bred and owned by Ute Scheibig from Bad Salzuflen, took bronze with an overall score of 8.4.

The Haflinger mare Stalande by Sternentanz/Standard (breeder and owner: Friedbert Düning, Enger) won the age class for three-year-old small horses with a score of 8.6 ahead of the Glückspilz WF/Fleurop son Gin Fire F. The Braunisabell stallion, who belongs to the Small German Riding Horse breed, was bred by Daniela Fischer from Ennigerloh, who is also the owner, and received a score of 8.5. Gänseblümchen K.A. by Goliath v.d. Groenweg/Nantano (bred and owned by ZG Averhaus, Emsdetten) was close behind with a score of 8.4.

After a short break, the four-year-old riding horses went into the free jumping arena. Here, the son of Aganix du Seigneur Z/Nekton, bred by Andreas Beckers, Fürth, took first place with a score of 9.1. Andreas Westlinning from Sassenberg is the owner of the bay stallion named Asterix. Second place went to Alarich by All Star/Chacoon Blue (breeder and owner: Georg Kaiser, Borchen) with a score of 8.85. The stallion with the beautiful name Cerveza por favor by H.Cornet's Boy/Cassini Boy Junior took third place with a score of 8.6. The dark bay was bred by Inga Schuurman-Boßmann, Kranenburg and is owned by Laura Bockhoff from Stadtlohn.

This year's free jumping final ended with the three-year-old riding horses. Here, a Coeur de Bella Donna/Araldik son bred by Karin Meier-Ewert, Michelstadt and owned by Norbert Aßmus from Steinhagen won with a score of 8.8. The chestnut mare Degra J by Dia Corrado/Balous Bellini (bred and owned by ZG Junker, Bad Sassendorf) took second place with a score of 8.6. Bettina Reucker from Heiden is the breeder and owner of the third-placed mare Catilda by Cornet's Carpaccio RT/Christoph Columbus, who received a score of 8.5.

Committed stallion owners make generous honorary prizes possible

The free jumping final not only boasted a record-breaking number of starters, but also offered particularly valuable honorary prizes for the best horses and ponies in each test class. Thanks to the support of a total of nine breeding stations and stallion owners as well as the partners of the Effol, Derby and ehorses studbooks, all winners, runners-up and third-placed riding horses were presented with stud fee vouchers and other generous honorary prizes. In addition, the Wohlgemuth family (W-Stallions) presented a stud fee voucher for their exceptional stallion Mylord Manolito NRW for the best mare among the three-year-old German riding ponies.
