On April 10 and 11, 2025, the breeding days with licensing took place at the Münster-Handorf Horse Center as part of the Handorf Icelandic Horse Days.
April 10 belonged to the young mares, which were presented to the two IPZV material judges Silke Feuchthofen and Marlise Grimm for evaluation. The winning 4-year-old mare was Ófeigs-Saga by Heimamýri with a final score of 7.99. Her sire is the Moli frá Skríðu son Monsi by Heimamýri, owned and bred by Mia Kliewe and Aron Már Albertsson in Nieheim.
The highest score of the 3-year-old mares went to Dimma von Horstmar with a final score of 8.32. She is by the stallion Svaði frá Hólum, out of the mare Draumadís frá Garði. Dimma's breeder and owner is Jürgen Hundebeck in Horstmar.
April 11th started with a FIZO conformation evaluation of 11 horses of different ages. The Icelandic FIZO judge Þorvaldur Kristjánsson and his colleague Jens Füchtenschnieder came to Handorf for this evaluation. This evaluation is based on the international judging system for Icelandic horses and the results are included in the breeding value estimation of this breed. This was followed by the evaluation of five 4-year-old and eighteen 3-year-old young stallions. Leading the 4-year-olds was the black pinto Blettur frá Króki, sired by Þráinn frá Flagbjarnarholti and Erla frá Stóra-Vatnsskarði. He scored 8.20 for conformation, 8.20 for interior and also 8.20 for gaits. The breeder and owner of this stallion is Eike Richters in Münster.
In the large group of 3-year-olds, the non-association stallion Vinjar von der Igelsburg took first place with a final score of 8.20. His sire is Kóngur von der Igelsburg and his dam Víf frá Eikarbrekku. The breeder and owner of this stallion is Carola Krokowski in Habichtswald.
Three 4-year-old and six 3-year-old young stallions were licensed by the Westphalian Studbook. The winner of the licensing was the chestnut pinto Flóki by Heidarleiki. He received 8.10 for conformation, 8.10 for interior and 8.0 for gaits and movements, a final score of 8.05. His sire is Ísar frá Stykkishólmi and his dam is Næla vom Schneiderwirt. Owner and breeder is Christine Schwonke in Nordwalde, Flóki was presented by Eric Winkler and his team.
In addition, a stallion was licensed who had already successfully passed his ridden performance test in Iceland in 2024. He received 8.20 for his conformation, 8.42 for riding qualities and 8.35 overall. His sire is Álfaklettur frá Syðri-Gegnishólum and his dam Urður frá Ásmundarstöðum. He is now with his breeder and owner Maike Morbach in Lengerich.
