During the mare show season, from June to August, the evaluation committee travels to a variety of venues throughout Westphalia and beyond the borders of Westphalia.

At the mare and foal shows, our breeders' youngest hopefuls are given the opportunity to present themselves to the public and the Westphalian evaluation committee on the triangular track. After each ring, the foals are ranked and commented on. In addition, each foal is described linearly, which improves the transparency and comprehensibility of the evaluation. The linear description can be called up promptly after the show in the breeder's WestfalenOnline account or requested from the office.

Registration for the foal show can be made via WestfalenOnline or by e-mail to stutenschauanmeldung(ät)westfalenpferde.de (registration form in the download area).

Video film service
As in previous years, our mare shows will again be broadcast live by rimondo this year with the kind support of our partner Derby. As a breeder, you will receive a voucher for downloading the video at the registration trolley. In addition, all videos from the various venues will be published on www.rimondo.com.

Registration procedure
At each event you will find our registration trolley in the immediate vicinity of the showground. After the presentation of your mare or foal, you will come to the registration van with your horse(s) and all documents (e.g. foal registration, mare's equine passport). There the foals are marked with a transponder, the markings are recorded and, depending on the breed and the occasion, a hair sample is taken for the parentage check. Please note that all fees must be paid on site in cash, by cheque or by EC card. The fees can be found in the fee schedule.

If you want to market your foal via one of the Westphalian foal auctions, we recommend that you present your foal at a selection appointment in Münster-Handorf. At the same time, a movement and pavement video will be produced, which can be purchased afterwards. In addition, your foal will be registered directly after the presentation. It is therefore important to bring the foal registration with you to this appointment. 

Upcoming selection dates for foal auctions

Outside the mare and foal show season, you have the opportunity to come to the Münster-Handorf Horse Centre on the first Wednesday of every month at 2 pm to have your foal registered. Registrations can be made via WestfalenOnline and the studbook department.

There is also great demand for the farm appointments to register foals at the breeder's premises. If possible, the appointment should be requested informally by mid-July, stating the location of the horses and the telephone number of the owner (member). The registration team will then put together an itinerary and inform you of the exact time one to two weeks before the appointment. Please ensure that you have the necessary documents (including foal registration, mare's equine passport, owner's registration number) to hand.
