Münster: This afternoon, the Westphalian Summer Auction offered 41 riding horses for dressage and show jumping for sale. At an average price of 18,162 euros, 83 percent of the horses offered found new owners. The highest bid of the day was placed for the Caressini daughter Cellini. She found her new home in Belgium for 48,000 euros.
The 41 auction candidates had been stabled at the Westphalian Studbook for just under two weeks so that interested buyers could view and test ride them. From promising young horses that have only recently been started under the saddle to experienced partners ready for immediate starts in competitions, the lot was versatile. Bidding on the auction candidates had been open since Thursday. Interest from buyers, especially those from abroad, was strong. The final BidUp then began today, Sunday, at 2 p.m.
Of the young horses offered for the dressage arena and show jumping course, 34 found new owners this afternoon. With an average price of 18,162 euros for the horses sold, the Westphalian Studbook achieved a total turnover of 617,500 euros. Ten of the sold horses reached a hammer price of over 20,000 euros. The young horses from Westphalia were also in demand internationally, with 16 horses ready to travel beyond Germany’s borders.
The top price of the entire auction was achieved by an experienced show jumping horse. Head number 9, Cellini by Caressini/Almox Prints J (breeder: Ivo Auer, Wangen; exhibitor: Beerbaum Stables GmbH, Hörstel), has already achieved numerous international placings. Excellent conditions for the new owners from Belgium to continue a successful 2026 competition season. After 33 bids, long-standing clients secured the winning bid at 48,000 euros. The eleven sold show jumping horses achieved an average price of 18,545 euros among the international clientele.
Among the dressage horses, head number 1 immediately trotted to the top price. After 38 bids from ten bidders representing four different countries, customers from Italy showed the greatest determination. Franc by Franze/Beltoni (breeder: Nina Sixtensson, Sweden; exhibitor: Erika Novak, Slovenia) originates from the dam line of the internationally successful Grand Prix horse Weltissimo ridden by Hubertus Schmidt. Fort he hammer price of 37,000 euros, the three-year-old stallion will travel to Italy.
Also surpassing the 30,000 euro mark among the dressage horses was head number 16. Duplo by Dimaggio Black/Quaterback (breeder: Dr. Christiane Busch, France; exhibitor: Frank Sierwald, Stade) impressed throughout the auction period with outstanding movement quality and excellent rideability scores. Customers from France invested 32,000 euros in the charming liverchestnut. The 23 sold dressage horses achieved an average price of 17,978 euros.
