120 years of the Westphalian Studbook.
100 years of the Westphalian Equestrian Sports Association.
The Westphalians and their horses: they have been connected and inseparable for centuries. There can be no question of standing still and nothing is guaranteed to change.
Sport and breeding have always been characterised by change, have developed and combined the best of the past with the innovations of the future. From 12 to 14 July 2024, the Westphalian Studbook opened its doors and celebrated a three-day anniversary festival. Under the motto "The future of horses", there was a real festival for young and old. There was a varied programme on offer covering all aspects of horse breeding and sport in Westphalia. A special focus this weekend was on children and horses. Families were able to take part in a range of activities.
A real highlight was the gala evening on Saturday, with which the Westphalian Studbook and the Westphalian Equestrian Sports Association put 120 years of breeding and 100 years of sport in a special light. Impressive show acts, fascinating quadrilles and touching memories of famous two- and four-legged Westphalians combined historical moments with the present and a look to the future. Many horse enthusiasts followed the varied programme in a relaxed atmosphere and enjoyed a wonderful evening.
The successful weekend came to an end on Sunday with the final of the Federal Mare Show and the NRW Foal Championships.
