Westphalian-bred horses have once again proven their top form in recent weeks, earning numerous placings and victories at major national and international competitions.
Hamburg: Highlights at the German Show Jumping and Dressage Derby
At the prestigious German Show Jumping and Dressage Derby in Hamburg, the Westphalian-bred Vayron NRW by Vitalis/Gloster (breeder: Heinrich Sterthoff) particularly stood out. Ridden by Ingrid Klimke, he claimed victory in the CDI5* Grand Prix with a score of 74.5% and placed second in the Grand Prix Special.
Valencia AS by Vitalis/Blue Hors Hotline (breeder: Albert Schulze-Topphoff), ridden by Fabienne Müller-Lütkemeier, also delivered a strong performance: fifth place in the Grand Prix and third in the Grand Prix Special.
The German Pony Dressage Derby was decisively won by Dobbi Dobsen by Dimension AT/Dublin (breeder: Agnes Beckhoff) with Lilli von Helldorf.
Westphalian horses also impressed on the show jumping course in Hamburg: In the CSI5* 1.50 m jumping class, C’est la vie by Comme il faut NRW/Cristallo (breeder: Heinz Lenter) and Felix Hassmann finished in second place. Another second-place finish came in the prestigious LONGINES Grand Prix over 1.60 m, where Checker by Comme il faut NRW/Come On (breeder: Wolfgang Kipp) competed with Christian Kukuk. Valour by Verdi TN/Calido (breeder: Nicole Lüttmann) and Kristaps Neretnieks (LAT) placed fourth.
LONGINES CSIO St. Gallen: International Recognition
In the Nations Cup of St. Gallen, United Touch S by Untouched/Lux (breeder: Julius-Peter Sinnack) delivered two clear rounds under Richard Vogel for the German team. In the 1.50 m qualifier for the Grand Prix, Cuma by Comme il faut/Ars Vivendi (breeder: Sportpferde Merschformann GmbH) and Katharina Rhomberg (AUT) secured third place — the same result they achieved in the LONGINES Grand Prix of Switzerland over 1.60 m.
